USCIS Continues to Accept H-1B Cap Cases for FY 2012

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) continues to accept H-1B petitions against the cap for Fiscal Year 2012 at a rate consistent with previous weeks. As of July 15, 2011, USCIS had received 20,500 filings against the standard H-1B cap of 65,000 and 12,800 filings against the cap exemption of 20,000 for holders of U.S. advanced degrees. This is an increase of 2,100 standard cases and 900 advanced-degree cases since the previous update on July 1. Please contact our office if you have any questions about this posting.

February 2011 – The U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it is now issuing employment authorization (EAD) and travel authorization (advance parole or “AP”) on a single card for certain applicants filing an I-485, Application to Adjust Status. The new card looks similar to the current EAD but will include text that reads, “Serves a I-512 Advance Parole”.
